The project focused in particular on the SMEs for which the manager has reached the retirement age, the so-called "aging SMEs". Our project aims to offer this manager an additional takeover option, namely to transfer the company to its own employees in order to ensure the continuity of business operations and to anchor the local employment.

The project aimed to develop the following tools for service providers on the Flemish labor market:
  • An innovative support program for managers and employees that collectively and qualitatively treats all aspects of the acquisition. This guidance process for aging SMEs, our final target group, is not only aimed at the manager, but also at all or part of the employees. Central to this counseling process was the assessment, design and development of the takeover of the SME by its own employees. It was intended that all course counselors could apply this methodology if this seems to be a suitable track for the SME that comes to ask for guidance.
  • An online platform that informs and sensitizes the final target group.
